Child-Parent Educators

Noam Lerman is a member of the Nehar Shalom Community, and is currently in their final
year at the Hebrew College Rabbinical School, where they will also be receiving a Masters of Jewish education. They have been an environmental educator with the Teva Learning Center, and Noam has also taught at multiple Hebrew schools in the Boston and New York areas. They enjoy bringing a hands-on, experiential, and wonder-filled approach to Jewish education, one that encourages storytelling, laughter, and questions from students.  Noam is excited to explore and learn Jewish spirituality, values, and customs with families in the Mishpacha Group!

A member of Nehar Shalom and a community leader at Kavod, Aviva has been living in JP for two years since graduating from Tufts University where she focused on Middle East studies and Education. Aviva spends her days as an congregational community organizer with the Essex County Community Organization, working across race, class and faith lines toward a world where we each have the right to grow, thrive and dream. She recently completed the JOIN for Justice Jewish Organizing Fellowship, and has previously worked as a teacher, refugee job coach, and facilitator. Having grown up sitting on the Torah table each shabbat morning while her father chanted from the Torah scroll, Aviva cares deeply about creating opportunities for each of us to bring Torah and Jewish tradition close to us through song, art, and new and old rituals. She is so excited to learn, explore and grow together with the members of the family learning circle.
